Major: Accounting/Management Why I Became a Beta: I joined Beta for a few reasons. I wanted to be a part of something that was really special. I joined Beta not only to better my leadership skills but to be a part of a brotherhood. I grew up in a house dominated by females (even the dog was a female). This is one reason why I have such a strong relationship with my father. I really wanted that brother feeling and that's what Beta is to me.

I noticed right away that the brothers I met fit this mold and that they would be able to help me, not only academically, but also to become a better person. Major: Biology Why I Became a Beta: The very first time I met the JCU Betas I immediately felt my calling to the cherished brotherhood of the Men of Principle and knew that I wanted to become part of that. I felt that I had discovered the group of brothers with whom I had so much in common: a strong dedication to academics, devotion to the service of others, acknowledgement to the call to be leaders of the community, willingness to live up to a set of principles, and the ability to enjoy life.

Why I Became a Beta: As I have been educated in the Jesuit tradition of "Men for Others," I knew that Beta would be a great fit for me. Not only does its mission of "building men of principle for a principled life" reflect the Jesuit ideals, Beta's brotherhood truly fosters meaningful friendships that I can have throughout my life. Moreover, I find it so admirable that Betas place service as a priority, not only bettering the community but also their fraternal community - their brothers. Why I Became a Beta: The reason I joined Beta is because I was looking for something more, something deeper, to form bonds which cannot be broken with brothers whom I will never forget.
